I also started a new job last week, I am a behavioral specialist. Basically it's sort of like a therapist, but not really involved in the diagnosis and not delving much into feelings. I work for an agency called Camelot, and our clients are children/adolescents. I did a year long internship with them in 2008, as a "Counselor in Training", and now they've hired me as what I can legally be until I graduate and pass the counseling licensure test. So, I go into a home of an adolescent that is very very severe (close to being put into a residential treatment facility) and monitor family dynamics, establish rapport with client and family, and do basic symptom management and remind them of coping skills. I spend a lot more time in the home than the lead therapist does, so I can provide insight into family problems that may be contributing to client's acting out behaviors. It's an interesting job. I never really imagined myself doing something like this, and sometimes frankly it's scary just to think about it, but I believe God has me where I'm at for a reason. I trust in Him. And it's a great way to save up money for moving back to Kansas this summer.
Yes, that's right. Jordan and I plan to move to Kansas this summer, after I graduate. =) I've been out of state in different schools for 7 years now. I'm ready to come home. We are praying that God would prepare a ministry for Jordan, he is ready to be a full time minister. (He's been a part time youth minister for almost 3 years now).
Well, that's enough for today!
